Questions for Further Study

If obedience is the measure of your love for God, how do you grow that love?

John 14:21“The person who has my commandments and obeys them is the one who loves me.” What does Jesus mean by “has my commandments?”

Do you see Christian’s behaving un-lovingly on social media? Have you been accused of this? How can we do better in this arena?

What do you say to people who say they love God but do not obey Him?

Judas asks, “what has happened that you are going to reveal yourself to us and not to the world” (14:22)? How would you answer him based on John 14:15-31?

In-dwelt by the Father and the Son (23c)

Gladness at Jesus’ departure to the Father (28b)

Love leads to Comfort

Another look at Jesus’ words

John 15:12-13   My commandment is this—to love one another just as I have loved you. 15:13 No one has greater love than this—that one lays down his life for his friends.

Unity is born in love for one another

We are to “lay down our lives for our friends”

Matthew 7:12  In everything, treat others as you would want them to treat you, for this fulfills the law and the prophets.

BE MORE CAREFUL

Social Media Posts are OFTEN misunderstood

1 Peter 3:8-9  Finally, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, affectionate, compassionate, and humble. 3:9 Do not return evil for evil or insult for insult, but instead bless others because you were called to inherit a blessing.

You are responsible even if someone else started it

Even if they were mean first

Even if your right

Walk like Jesus all else is SIN
