The sermon explored Romans 8:18–25, where Paul draws a striking contrast between our present sufferings and the future glory that awaits God's children. Rather than minimizing the reality of pain and hardship, Paul insists that the two cannot even be meaningfully compared—like comparing buckets of suffering to an ocean of glory. Just as all of creation groans under the weight of the curse and eagerly anticipates restoration, we too groan inwardly as we await the fullness of our adoption in Christ. The central idea was this: future glory eclipses present suffering, which we, alongside creation, endure with hope sustained by the Holy Spirit, awaiting final adoption. Hope is not a passive wish, but an active fuel that carries us through difficulty when we fix our eyes on what God has promised.
