Walking in Truth & Righteousness

In an age drowning in information, we find ourselves facing a profound crisis: truth has become expensive and difficult to find. This message takes us through the book of Proverbs and Ephesians 4 to explore how we can grow not just in knowledge, but in truth itself. Solomon's wisdom teaches us to pursue moral instruction, to live skillfully in righteousness, justice, and equity. We discover that these aren't abstract concepts but practical realities that begin in our marriages, families, and local communities before extending outward. The challenge we face is resisting the information tsunami that constantly pulls our attention to distant injustices while neglecting the opportunities for righteousness right in front of us. Through powerful proverbs about honest scales, defending the innocent, and speaking for the voiceless, we're reminded that God detests injustice and delights when we walk in truth. But here's the beautiful paradox: we cannot achieve this through behavior modification alone. We must first put off the old self and put on the new self in Christ, allowing the Holy Spirit to transform us from the inside out. Only then can we speak truth, manage anger without sinning, work honestly to share with those in need, and avoid grieving the Holy Spirit. This is living with skill, righteousness, and justice—not through our own effort, but through God's redemptive work within us.
