Part 10: Celebration

Aug 10, 2025    Pastor Chris Sherwood

In this powerful message, we're invited to explore the transformative power of celebration in our spiritual lives. The central theme revolves around how Christians can and should experience God through joyful celebration. We're reminded of the numerous festivals God commanded in the Old Testament, from Passover to the Day of Atonement, each serving as a reminder of His faithfulness and goodness. The message then beautifully transitions to Jesus' parables in Luke 15 - the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the prodigal son. These stories highlight a profound truth: there is immense celebration in heaven when even one sinner repents. This challenges us to examine our own hearts. Do we truly rejoice when others come to Christ? Are we quick to celebrate God's work in the lives of others? The message urges us to cultivate a spirit of genuine celebration, free from envy or self-centeredness. It encourages us to establish rhythms of daily, weekly, and annual celebrations that draw us closer to God and strengthen our relationships with others. As we learn to celebrate what God loves, we not only bring Him glory but also experience Him more deeply in our lives.
